At Glen Urquhart School (GUS), a challenging academic program is the foundation of a joyful, hands-on learning experience for students in Pre-K through grade 8. Since 1977, GUS has paired strong academics with the excitement of discovery, ensuring students are both engaged and prepared for what comes next. Our curriculum is intentionally interdisciplinary, connecting science, math, art, music, world languages, and more, so students see how ideas and disciplines inform one another. Learning is brought to life through grade-level themes and experiential study — whether it’s a trip to the beach to analyze tidal pools, a debate rooted in historical research, or an eighth-grade musical production. In every grade, students are taught to ask questions, solve problems creatively, and reflect on their growth as learners. Set on a 23-acre campus in Beverly Farms, MA, just 30 miles north of Boston, GUS provides rich opportunities for exploration across nature trails, wetlands, a 7,000-square-foot greenhouse, and outdoor classrooms. This environment reinforces the school’s commitment to curiosity, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
